About Mochahost

Is Mochahost a Good webhost?

MochaHost was founded in 2002 in San Jose, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley, to provide integrated and holistic web hosting solutions at fair and reasonable costs. Its goal is to be on the lower end of the market while yet giving top-notch service.

There’s little information available about the company’s founders or inner workings. It’s not unheard of for hosts to let their services speak for themselves.

MochaHost stands out because of their “Lifetime Discount” program (your renewal fee never changes), 100% uptime guarantee, 180-day risk-free guarantee, and extensive toolbox of website building tools, e-commerce solutions, digital marketing support, and several other services for the online entrepreneur.

The website is multilingual, having versions in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese, and a facility, to convert prices into 42 other currencies.

Mochahost: Pros and Cons

MochaHost has a lot of pros and cons. If you can get beyond the text-heavy website pages, it’s cheap and provides a decent range of features that make it worth investigating.

Here are the pros and cons of Mochahost web hosting at a glance.

Pros
Cons

Pros of Mochahost

Unlimited Bandwidth and Disk Space: All of Mochahost’s hosting services provide unlimited bandwidth and disk space. While this isn’t a unique feature, it’s always wonderful to see because many hosting companies don’t offer limitless bandwidth or disk space. Several companies put limits on these two metrics. Users will never receive a “bandwidth exceeded” error at Mochahost. So, they do not need to worry about this.

Reliable Cloud Infrastructure: For beginners, the hardware is top-notch, with 2.40GHz Xeon CPUs, 256 DDR4 RAM, RAID-10 SAN SSD storage, and a 1Gbps uplink on each server. The systems are built with 100 percent redundant components, with some data center gear being N+2 redundant.

The service provider virtualizes the physical server architecture and sets up a cloud platform on top of it. Your data is spread over numerous physical devices, ensuring that you are protected against hardware failure. It also includes automated failover, which means that if one virtual machine fails, another will take over instantly, reducing downtime.

Lifetime Discount Guarantee: MochaHost provides lifetime discount guarantees. That is a unique feature. That means if you sign up for a discounted rate, that pricing will never change – they will never raise their prices on you.

So, you can sign up for their cheapest plan for less than $2 a month right now. If you continue to use Mochahost as your hosting service, you will never pay more than two dollars per month – ever. That’s rather remarkable, considering how many other hosts conduct limited-time promos.

Free Unlimited SSL Certificate: SSL certificates are becoming more crucial to modern webmasters, and while most hosts of this size provide one free SSL certificate, few offer unlimited certificates. It will help visitors trust you with their personal information. It will improve your Google rankings and overall site security.

100% Uptime Guarantee: In the future, this will be unique. Every other hosting company I’ve seen offers a 99.9% uptime guarantee at the most. The uptime guarantee at Mochahost is 100%. They will pay you with free hosting if your website ever goes down as part of this assurance. Surprisingly, they don’t have a server status page that tells you whether or not they’re having technical problems. In any case, it’s a unique feature.

WYSIWYG Website Builder: The ability to effortlessly design websites using WYSIWYG software is also a benefit – not every Web hosting service offers this.

180-Day Risk-Free Guarantee: MochaHost’s hosting services come with one of the industry’s best money-back guarantees. If you’re unsatisfied with MochaHost, you may cancel within 180 days and receive a prorated refund of your unused hosting expenses.

Lifetime Free Domain: MochaHost also offers a “Lifetime Free Domain” option. If you buy a specific hosting package, you’ll get a free domain name for the duration of your contract. This is in contrast to many other hosting providers, who only supply a domain name for free for the first year of service, leaving you to pay for renewals in subsequent years.

27/4 Customer Support: MochaHost’s customer support team is available 24/7 by Live Chat, telephone, or a ticket-based helpdesk if you have any questions, comments, or issues.

MochaHost provides an extensive knowledge base and online video training for your convenience.

cPanel Integration: Mochahost provides a powerful and completely integrated Cpanel that allows you to manage your servers and view domains, email modules, MochaHost security, databases, files, web applications, and preferences.

Load Protection Service: With Mocha’s load protection service, the tech staff keeps an eye on all shared servers 24/7 a day, seven days a week. Any websites that are overburdening the platform are contacted by the supplier, who then proposes a repair or a plan upgrade. It means that if someone else’s site goes down, your performance won’t be affected.

SQL Connections: Mochahost provides a reliable platform with SQL Connections that allow several users to log in at the same time. Windows and SQL Server authentication are also supported with these connections.

Cons of Mochahost

Confusing for Beginners: The hosting products are a little more difficult to use outside of the shared hosting plans and possibly the managed WordPress plans.

They’re aimed at those who know what they’re doing, at the very least: web developers, IT teams, or those who have just worked with online project hosting before.

Misleading Advertising: The “lightning-fast guarantee” was the biggest letdown. The guarantee appears to be a little suspect. We had to dig into the terms of service to figure out what “risk-free” meant, as I indicated in the 180-day risk-free guarantee above.

MochaHost gives a few figures and claims to be speedier than other cloud services. However, the webpage makes no mention of acceptable speeds or what happens if a breach occurs.

If you want a complete refund, you can get one, but only for the first 30 days — and you must choose that option. Given that this is a service that most Web hosting providers lack, it felt as if their advertising was either ambiguous or misleading.

Unclear Resource Limits: When a website becomes popular, problems arise because of resource limits. Even a simple website can consume a lot of CPU and RAM if it receives too many visitors. In such circumstances, the provider must compel an upgrade or, the servers would be exhausted.

The best plan has a 4GB RAM limit, but the rest of the resources are unlimited. The amount of storage, bandwidth, and CPU power available is all “infinite.”

It’s difficult to prepare for service upgrades as a result of this. When you don’t know how much you can access in the first place, it’s also difficult to optimize resource spending.

Some providers leave resource limits open, which is inconvenient for website owners.

Fewer Hosting Options: They have fewer hosting options than others, but what they do have is adequate for most people. They have six Linux and six Windows alternatives, which should be enough to meet the demands of most users.

Limited Datacenters for Coverage: MochaHost may have a large user base, but it does not have data centers in many parts of the world. Chicago is home to most of the company’s facilities.

The web hosting company in the United States has a network of data centers and other places of presence. It allows delivering content across North America and Europe.

On the other hand, Your data are automatically stored in the United States. The longer it takes to send your web pages, the farther away your viewers are. For this, it’s a slight disadvantage of Mochahost.

No Integrated Backup: Mochahost does not back up its data for the benefit of its customers. It should only be utilized in an emergency. If you hosted with them, you’d have to come up with your backup solution. To get automated backups, you have buy premium/ business hosting plans.

Free domain is restricted: Firstly, On MochaHost, the entry-level shared plan does not provide a free domain (at least for a year). The domain isn’t included for free if you want the most economical option, which can be a headache if you’re using the first tier to save money.

Again, they’re only free with 1-2 year commitments (rather than 3-year bundles) and for prominent top-level domains like.com,.org,.net, and.info.

Finally, you have to claim your free domain at the same time as you purchase your account package. That means you cannot buy hosting first and then receive your free domain afterward once you’ve decided on a name.

Exclusive features are not available for small plans: MochaHost comes equipped with several essential utilities. The issue is that only a few are universally available. They offer physical server locations in the US, as well as Singapore and The Netherlands now.

To take the benefits of SEO tools, a migration service, WordPress optimization, and a slew of security measures, you’d have to upgrade to the Business plan. The Mocha hosting plan also includes Cloudflare CDN, MySQL database tools, automated backups, and caching services.

The structure used by MochaHost seems to be very persuasive for customers to purchase an upgrade.

It isn’t optimal for customers. Even if MochaHost has many good features, you might have to spend a little extra to have all you want.

Extra cPanel Cost: When it comes to selecting a control panel, Mochahost certainly has the most options. But they are not free. Linux users have more options than Windows users, with cPanel, Easy Web Panel, WHM, and Plesk to pick from. The Website Panel and Plesk Panel are the only options for Windows users, albeit Plesk is more expensive.

Old and Clunky Interface: The UI is unattractive and appears to be out of date. Even a cursory glance at the site will reveal this.

Mochahost Hosting Plans and Features

MochaHost offers Linux and Windows hosting options, the latter of which is particularly appealing to ASP.NET developers searching for a low-cost Windows hosting solution. It’s worth mentioning, though, that the Windows shared hosting options will set you back an additional $1 each month.

Mochahost: Testing, Analysis & Results

In this section, we will test the Mochahost server speed, response time and check the uptime stats by months. This will help us to understand the reliability of Mochahost.

Mochahost Server Response Time

To check server response time, you can use any tools available online. We are using Bitcatcha.

Bitcatcha is an excellent tool for testing server response times without having to load any data. As a result, we’ll be using this one.

We have used one of our websites hosted by Mochahost (smartestlancer.com). You will get the same result if you use any other website hosted by Mochahost.

Mochahost server response time

Your server response time should be less than 200 milliseconds,” according to Google‘s citations. You have something to be worried about if it takes longer than 1-2 seconds.

As you can see, theMochahost servers in the United States, London, Canada, Germany, Sydney, Japan, Singapore, and Sao Paulo all completed the task in less than 10 ms. You can’t imagine how faster it is! It has defeated many other famous web hosting providers such as Bluehost, DreamHost, SiteGround, and Godaddy. So, this is a fact to consider when you think of buying hosting services.

It took only 69ms to respond in Mumbai, but still, it was so good too. We seriously have to admit that, Mochahost is better than others in any location of the world!

Besides, according to the Bitcatcha speed test result, the average server speed is only 12 ms, which is outstanding.

Mochahost Uptime History

Mochahost downtime was a common problem in 2016. We checked Mochahost uptime for a few months at a stretch. It surprised us that it didn’t go down for a while. Even The server didn’t go down from 665 days according to their server (mocha3029) log data (10-Feb-2022).

We tracked the Mochahost server’s uptime data for 11 months in 2020. We had a strong trust in Mochahost performance regarding uptime reliability. From then, we start using Mochahost for our several websites.

According to our previous tests, the uptime history for a year (2020) is given below: –

  • January 20: 99.63%
  • February 20: 99.80%
  • March 20: 99.57%
  • April 20: 99.97%
  • May 20: 99.98%
  • June 20: 99.97%
  • July 20: 100.00%
  • August 20: 99.73%
  • September 20: 99.98%
  • October 20: 99.97%
  • November 20: 99.95%
  • December 20: 99:99%

According to our uptime report of past 4 months (Aug 21 – Dec 21), Mochahost has surpassed the ideal uptime score of 99.93%. So, it’s a great sign of reliability regarding uptime issues.

The good thing is that the SLA for MochaHost includes the availability of MochaHost servers and network components and ensures 100 percent network and server uptime. Scheduled maintenance, problems outside the MochaHost network, disruptions caused by the client, and malicious behavior such as DDoS assaults are not included.

If MochaHost fails to satisfy their SLA and you experience 3 hours or less downtime, you will receive a credit equal to 3% of your monthly charge. You’ll get a credit equal to 5% of your monthly cost for each additional hour (up to a maximum of 100 percent of your monthly fee).

Another cool thing is that MochaHost also has a feature called ‘Never Reboot Protection.’

To explain, most hosting providers have scheduled downtime on occasion. It allows them to install operating system patches, make structural changes as needed, and perform other necessary maintenance. Such updates usually necessitate a reboot of the hosting system. It’s a common incident that hosting companies warn you about ahead of time.

MochaHos has a proprietary mechanism that allows system administrators to perform routine maintenance on servers without rebooting them. Because the servers don’t need to restart as frequently, you won’t have downtime.

Mochahost Offerings

In addition to hosting packages,  Mochahost provides other services. . Let’s take a look at some of the notable other services.

Free Website migration service

When looking for a new service, migrations might be a challenge. The more involved your project is, the more troubleshooting you’ll have to undertake to get it moving smoothly.

MochaHost provides a free website migration solution to make the transition as smooth as possible.

One complication is that your initial hosting package should use the same control panel as MochaHost, namely cPanel. Windows users can not use the service, which is a drawback.

Understandably, MochaHost has such a feature, as migrating accounts from another panel can be difficult. Only a few hosts do not charge extra for transfers from other solutions.

SEO and Marketing

Most hosting plans come with a Free Marketing Pack that includes search engine submission, up to $100 in Google AdWords credit, and an email marketing module that you can use from your site’s control panel. This module simplifies the process of creating and managing email lists, designing marketing emails, and tracking campaigns.

If you need more SEO help, MochaHost has collaborated with Attracta to provide you with a range of plans to help you boost your site’s search engine rating. In addition to multi-search engine submissions, you’ll receive malware and Google Blacklist checking, as well as site enhancement suggestions and methods.

E-Commerce Services

E-commerce software is supported by all of MochaHost’s plans. Besides, the company also offers additional services for people who want to start an online store. Professional e-commerce services are available in three tiers, ranging from a basic plan that includes guidance and some support to a full-featured, all-inclusive subscription where MochaHost takes care of everything.

Custom Website Design

If you prefer a unique design, you may contact MochaHost for a quote tailored to your specific needs.

Security Features

Mochahost provides several security services with its hosting plans. They are: –

  • Anti-spam software: If you’re worried about security, MochaHost’s automated anti-spam software has you covered. It will monitor for suspicious activities and notify you if there is anything to be concerned about.
  • SpamAssasin email filtering: MochaHost offers a secure email solution with SpamAssasin anti-spam protection, as well as other website security features.
  •  SSL Certificate:  256 bit Free or private secure-socket-layer (SSL) certificates provided by Mochahost help to secure your e-commerce functionality of online sales.
  • Custom Cron-Jobs: Automatic Custom Cron jobs can be used to schedule tasks and monitor site processes.
  • Hotlink protection: Hotlink prevention is a security feature in cPanel that helps you save bandwidth. It prevents third-party websites from linking directly to your content.
  • Easy-to-find cPanel link: You may alter the.htaccess file to control site access or create a password using an easy-to-find link in the control panel.

Mochahost Website Builder

The Site Builder gives you access to ready-to-use themes, which you can customize by changing the placeholder text and images to create a fully functional website.

Even those with no design experience or technical knowledge can use the WYSIWYG editor. Your site is mobile-friendly by default, which means it will look great on any device your visitor uses. You won’t see any MochaHost advertising on your final website because this is a paid option.

The acronym WYSIWYG stands for “What You See Is What You Get.” To put it another way, you don’t even know how to code to create your website. It’s a visual editor, so your website will be developed and laid up just how you see it on the screen. It will handle all the codes for you.

With the addition of product catalogs, shopping carts, checkout processes, and payment processing, the Site Builder makes it simple to convert your site into a comprehensive online store. You can also include forms to collect visitor information, social media sharing tools, a blog, and multilingual support.

If you choose an advanced site-building package, you’ll gain extra capabilities like newsletter and email marketing, a Google AdSense connection, a site search feature, and custom script support.

Mochahost Customer Support

MochaHost provides three types of assistance – knowledge-based, email, ticket-based,  and online chat support.  Unfortunately, they don’t provide phone support.

Chat Support: Our investigation revealed that MochaHost’s support crew is inconsistent. The frontline agents are encouraged to stick to a script and avoid sensitive topics. If you’re looking for quick help, probably this isn’t the place to be.

Fortunately, the tech crew is in better shape. Only experienced engineers are hired, and all administrators are required to complete cPanel University and several Microsoft Learn courses. This guarantees that staff have a strong grip of cPanel and WHM, as well as a variety of Microsoft tools and platforms, which is useful given Mocha’s Windows Server solutions.

Email Ticketing: Their email ticketing support is somewhat satisfactory. You can reach out to them by email ticketing if you require technical assistance. Your question will be routed to the individual who is best equipped to handle the situation.

Knowledge-based: The collection of knowledge base resources is enormous. There are a wealth of helpful guides available.

Some pieces, on the other hand, are purely promotional. Rather than authoring its post, MochaHost frequently links to various resources. It’s not a matter of concern. But the supplier doesn’t keep the repository up to date, thus some of the links are broken.

Mochahost: Refund Policy

Mochahost refund policy

A 180-day risk-free guarantee is one of the many claims made by MochaHost. This is where many reviewers make mistakes without understanding the refund policy.

I have talked to their customer support members several times about the refund policy. I have uploaded a screenshot of our chat above.

In reality, unlike most hosts, the company only offers a complete refund within the first 30 days. You won’t be able to use the money-back promise after that.

Instead, you can get a prorated refund within 180 days of your purchase thanks to the risk-free guarantee. The host will simply deduct the domain name and the number of days you’ve used from the overall amount, and you’ll receive the remaining portion of your charge.

This is a great alternative, and few hosts are willing to let you leave after such a lengthy time. It’s a huge benefit, but keep in mind that it’s not the same as a full money-back guarantee.

Mochahost cPanel

CPanel is offered with Linux shared hosting plans, whereas WebSitePanel, a popular alternative to Plesk, is included with Windows shared hosting services. Unfortunately, control panels are not included with VPS and dedicated plans, so you’ll have to pay an extra couple of dollars per month to utilize CPanel or Plesk.

We tested MochaHost’s CPanel interface to see how it stacked up against other CPanel interfaces we’ve seen, and we weren’t disappointed. We were able to identify and use important aspects of our website, such as FTP access, e-mail, and backups, similar to other CPanel interfaces.

MochaHost_cpanel

When it comes to protecting your data, MochaHost, for the most part, takes it very seriously. This is backed up by a completely redundant network architecture with no single point of failure, as well as 24-hour network monitoring, physical security, and weekly generator checks.

MochaHost has its own web application firewall that filters out threats, and automatic daily backups ensure that your data is protected in the event that your site is hacked.

Do we recommend Mochahost?

Yes!

The provider has a lot of benefits, as evidenced by the countless good MochaHost reviews.

For one thing, it’s very stable, going so far as to minimize scheduled downtime. It’s one of the most cost-effective hosting providers, with plans starting at just $1.95 a month. Plus, even if you’re six months into hosting, you may get a prorated refund, giving you plenty of time to try out the platform.

The features are also satisfactory. There are tools for both Linux and Windows Server with superb WordPress management and strong integrations.

However, there are a few concerns to address. The cheapest plan is fairly basic in terms of features, the website contains deceptive information, and sometimes the servers get slow.

If you require affordable web hosting in the United States, MochaHost is one of the most cost-effective options, but there are more polished options if you have a few extra dollars to spend.

How To Get Started With Mochahost?

Here’s how to get started with MochaHost in a step-by-step way:

1. Create An Account

  • Create a MochaHost account as the initial step. The UI is user-friendly, and the signing is simple.
  • After that, go to the website and click the “order now” option to choose your subscription plan. Soho, Business, and Mocha are the three options available, each with its own set of features and pricing.
  • Choose a hosting package, which includes everything from dedicated servers to virtual private servers to WordPress. ASP.net for Windows or cPanel for Linux are more options.
  • Choose from a monthly or three-year billing cycle.
  • Select a MochaHost Domain.
  • After that, pick a domain name. You have the choice of moving your existing domain from another server, creating a new one, or staying with your present option.

2. Account Validation

Before making any payments, you must validate your information in this step.

3. Select your Payment method

The next step is to pay for your order using your preferred payment methods, such as Paypal or credit card.

4. Create your Webpage

After confirming and verifying your order, you may use the website builder to construct a website in under 15 minutes. You can use 1-click installer apps from cPanel to start a website within a few minutes.

Conclusion

Mochahost appears to be a reliable Web host on the surface. We liked that the service was available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and that they seemed to be more responsive than some of the reviews indicated.

It almost makes me believe they weren’t always as good, but it appears like they’ve cleaned up their act, which is encouraging.

FAQ

Cloud Equity Group purchased MochaHost in 2019.

While Mochahost has its supporters – and haters – the company has been around for a long time and has many clients.
Mochahost is worth a look if it’s on your list, with rock-bottom prices (beginning at just $1.95), a guaranteed uptime percentage of 100 percent, and a speed guarantee.

The entry-level alternatives are ideal for people on a tight budget or who are just getting started and require a straightforward solution. The process of getting started might be time-consuming and perplexing, but these basic options are designed to be simple to use and cover everything you might require.

There are additional premium hosting options available when your site grows. When you require more web hosting resources, you can think of VPS hosting plans or dedicated servers.

When it comes to these forms of hosting, you may expect to be more “hands-on” – many web hosting firms demand customers of these alternatives to be knowledgeable with the subtleties of system administration. If that isn’t the case, some companies will offer managed services where they take care of the specifics on your behalf.

MochaHost has a modest monthly fee of $1.95. To get this price, you must pay three years in advance. It’s a set price, so you won’t have to pay anything extra when your hosting contract expires. As a result, MochaHost is one of the most cost-effective hosting services in the long run. Only a few website hosting businesses in the United States can match the initial pricing, and the majority of those are more expensive when it comes time to renew.

PRECAUTIONS

You may have seen many bad reviews about different issues related to Mochahost. I talked to Mochahost support team members regarding those issues.

Many people who leave bad reviews often do that because they are mad at Mochahost because of their mistake or they have no reason.

Again, some customers have some real reasons for that. I have asked Mochahost members several questions. Let’s know their answers.

Problem – 01: Some user says – ‘Mochahost has destroyed their business as they expected automatic backups from Mochahost. So, ‘Is there any Automatic Backup system at Mochahost?

Solution: Yes. For shared hosting only. They offer automatic backup every 2 weeks. Note that the backup is done only if you have under 20GB storage used and under 50000 files.

Mochahost describes in rule no. – 14 about the backup issue: –

“Mochahost is not liable for any lost files or information. It is the client’s exclusive obligation to move files and data and to keep a copy of your account’s backup file. MochaHost exclusively uses backups in the event of a disaster or to restore a server. Accounts that have been suspended or terminated will no longer have backups available. MochaHost is not liable for any data loss resulting from past-due invoices or accounts that have been stopped due to non-payment. Any data loss will not be MochaHost’s responsibility.”

Problem – 02: We saw several negative reviews about the AUTO SSL problem. Mochahost Auto SSL has crashed some customers’ business websites. So, Does Auto SSL create any problem?

Solution: According to Mochahost support team member, several issues may happen because of Auto SSL. Let’s inform you about some facts related to Mochahost.

  • Auto SSL certificates may not auto-renew automatically because of some unknown reasons.
  • Auto SSL uses a new type of certificate for all newer browsers. It is a recent thing. Often older browsers may not be able to detect the certificate automatically.Auto SSL Mochahost

Problem – 03: Some customers claim that Mochahost has terminated their website and deleted the data without any notice. So, Do Mochahost really delete a website without prior notice? Do they suspend cPanel suddenly?

Solution: Let me inform you of the right answers. Basically, Mochahost suspends cPanel for several reasons.

For unpaid Invoices: The most common reason for cPanel suspension is the unpaid invoice.

  • Firstly, Mochahost generates an invoice 1 month in advance and sends a notification.
  • Secondly, they allow up to 7 days past the deadline, for the customer to pay the invoice. After that, they commence with a suspension.Mochahost cPanel suspension

For other reasons: There are several other reasons described in terms and conditions.

  • Non-transferability of accounts
  •  ID Protection Service Agreement
  • Obligations of the Registrant
  • Hosting Limits
  • Cancellation policy

Problem – 04: Some customers say that Mochahost charged them upfront without prior notice. So, they are made at Mochahost as they didn’t like this.

 Now the question is,

“Do Mochahost charge in advance?”

Solution: Every hosting companies charge in advance for auto-renewal. Mochahost is not an exception. But they don’t charge upfront a year ago. Rather they will charge in advance a month ago by default.

Mochahost provides you with an option to choose the billing cycle. They offer 1, 3, 6, 12, and 36 months billing cycles. The new invoice is generated only one month before the plan suspension.

If you click on “Order now” under any hosting plans, you will get redirected to the billing cycle page. So, you can choose the renewal time from the Mochahost interface at ease.

Again, if you want to avoid auto-renewal, turn off the auto-renewal option.

Problem – 05: Mochahost offers a 100% uptime guarantee. So why does the Mochahost server go down often because of maintenance? So Mochahost is lying about the uptime guarantee. Right?

Solution: Mochahost uptime guarantee has a policy. The guarantee excludes several situations such as maintenance time, configuration errors, 3rd party software errors, excessive use of resources and malicious activities, etc. Check their terms and conditions for a uptime guarantee.

Problem – 06: Mochahost offers a 180-days money-back guarantee. but it didn’t give the customers a full refund when they canceled their plan. So, why did it happen? Did Mochahost lie about their refund policy? how does the Mochahost 180-days refund policy work?

Solution: The Mochahost refund policy has some conditions.

  • If you cancel your service during the first 30 days of being a client, we will reimburse your HOSTING payments in full.
  • You can cancel your account during the first 180 days of service, and regardless of your commitment (1 year, 2 years, 3 years, etc), you will be pro-rated for all unused hosting expenses based on our standard monthly package pricing.Mochahost refund policy

Problem – 07: Mochahost offers a lifetime discount. So, why does Mochahost charge its customer without any discount rate?

Solution: The Lifetime discount is only available for 3-year billing cycles. It must be available only during the active duration of the 3-year billing cycle. It will cover all invoices for the full active duration.Life discount mochahost

Problem – 08: A customer’s Mochahost plan has expired. Now the customer wants to upgrade or downgrade from the existing plan instantly. But the website is gone. Mochahost destroyed many customers’ websites/businesses. Is it true? Do you need an active hosting plan to migrate to any new hosting plan?

Solution: To access your server data, you must have an active plan. When the hosting plan expires, the server gets locked. For this, the data remain inaccessible.

According to the support member response, you can upgrade or downgrade a plan, even if your plan is suspended. But it should be within the first seven days after the expiration of the existing plan.

Customers’ servers get suspended after the expiration. If the customer wants to upgrade or downgrade the hosting plan after that, it becomes difficult. Often it becomes impossible to recover the lost website or data as Mochahost starts the suspension process after the first 7 days of expiration.

Problem – 09: Account suspended after the payment made using a credit card.

Solution: Some customer faces the following situation: –

I received an email the next day with the subject line “account suspended” after signing up and receiving order confirmation and credentials. They want me to send KYC confirmation with color ID once they inquire (after reading the ticket they entered on my behalf). The payment was made with a Visa card for just over $100.

I talked to support team members about this issue too.

  1. The Mochahost company is bound by US LAW to confirm the identity of the customers. When they find anything suspicious, they ask for proof of legal ID documents such as  KYC validation ID in color. If a customer can’t provide the real documents, this is marked as a credit card fraud issue.
  2. Again Mochahost doesn’t allow chargeback.Credit card fradulant issue mochahost

It is considered that above mentioned both topics can lead to a fraudulent purchase or activity. You can check their terms and conditions regarding this issue.

Problem – 10: The database errors problem at Mochahost.

Solution: This is a fairly common problem on shared hosting servers. There’s a limit to all shared servers for the databases. The limit is that you can’t have more than 5 connections to the same database at the same time.

Generally installing plugins and themes can add up to the already existing connections. Once you reach over 5 connections, you get the database error.

The database errors mostly happen with WordPress. In the cases of other CMS systems, database error is not so common.

You can check our guide about how to Fix the Error Establishing a Database Connection in WordPress

Problem – 11: Slow speed of Mochahost server.

Solution: We have tested the Mochahost server speed and have shown that Mochahost server speed is faster. Even it’s better compared to the famous WebHost such as DreamHost, Bluehost, and more.
But many Mochahost customers face slower speed to their websites.

Generally, the server performance is the same up to the point where there are not enough resources for the server to be able to perform the task. In general, performance degradation happens due to high resource usage and the actual connection.

The most common reason for performance issues is the application itself. Let’s give you a perfect example.

Customers having a shared server business plan get 2 CPUs and 2GB memory with five database connections limits. Many customers have several websites with over 10+ plugins and a theme on each one. Now such websites take over 400-500MB of memory.

It is normal for such servers to have an issue presenting the websites, as it is struggling with the actual resource allocations.
